Our Mission
Moroccan Software Crafters is a non-profit association that aims to stimulate, create and promote an ecosystem conducive to the expression and development of the community of developers, testers, and operators, without sexism, elitism, or specific technological constraints.
We believe that creating high-quality software requires more than just technical skills—it demands craftsmanship, continuous learning, and a collaborative approach. Our mission is to foster this mindset within the developer community across Morocco.
Through our annual conference and series of professional meetups, we create spaces for knowledge exchange, skill development, and strategic professional connections, contributing to the advancement of software development practices in the region.
Our Activities
1) Moroccan Software Crafters Meetup
A free monthly/bimonthly meetup that brings together people interested in Coding, Testing, DevOps, and other software development practices. These gatherings are primarily organized on Saturday mornings with a structured format:
- Networking session – Building connections among community members
- Flash Talks – Participants can take 5-10 minutes to speak on a topic of their choice (e.g., technology, learning experience, promoting a business)
- Bubble Topics – Discussions revolve around topics of interest. Everyone can present a topic briefly, allowing other participants to cast votes. The 3 most popular topics become the focus of dedicated discussion circles
- Retrospective – Reflecting on the event and gathering feedback for continuous improvement
2) SoCraTes Morocco Conference
The Moroccan edition of the international unconference SoCraTes (Software Craft and Testing). This annual non-profit event brings together a broad network of digital experts who share a commitment to promoting excellence in the creation of sustainable software solutions in a responsible manner.
Participants spend an immersive weekend together:
- Networking with peers and industry experts
- Sharing expertise and knowledge
- Debating technology topics in an open format
- Having fun in a collaborative environment
